Who We Serve

Children, families and our community

We create programs and experiences that bring people together and help our community thrive.

Strive High Academy is a nonprofit serving the Charleston area of South Carolina. Our work is built around what children and families in the Lowcountry actually need: encouragement, opportunity and a support system that holds.

That takes shape in three ways right now. Love Lives On brings grief support, connection and hope to children who have lost a parent. The Pet Mission places a pet with a grieving child and carries the cost for a full year. Pawsh Ever After is our signature community fundraiser, bringing the Lowcountry together to fund the work.

More programs, resources and events are being developed and announced through the year.

Our Initiatives

Three ways we show up

01

Love Lives On

Grief support, connection and hope for children who have lost a parent. A place where a child can be around others who understand, express what they are carrying, and be reminded that they are seen, supported and never alone.

02

The Pet Mission

We place a pet with a child who has lost a parent, and we cover the adoption, the supplies, the food and the veterinary care for a full year. The family never receives a bill. In partnership with Youngpreneur Academy.

Presence

We stay past the casseroles. Grief does not end when the attention does.

Dignity

No family fills out a hardship essay to be helped. We ask what is needed and we bring it.

Joy

Grieving children are still children. They get parties, pink carpets and celebrations too.

Follow through

We would rather promise less and deliver all of it.
